Hi, i bought a chinese water dragon 1 week ago and he/she is only a baby about 2 to 3 inch (body not inc tail) when i brought it home, eate like 3 crickets and then never touched them again from what i can see i put a few in his terrerium and he aint eaten them, as soon as i put a wax worm in their he eats that in a second, i have not tried him on meal worms yet but i understand there not good for a complete diet as are wax worms. Why does he only eat wax worms, and why has he stopped eatin crickets. the terrium is 5ft tall, 4ft wide and 4ft deep. the humidity is around 65% to 70% and the temps at 90 to 95 F please help, aslo i tried putting him in a tub with crickets so he can 100% see them am gettin worried now.
Waxworms are addictive...often if you feed them lizards will refuse to eat any other foods. The best thing you can do for your lizard is to starve him til he eats crickets and mealworms...it sounds very harsh but if he is hungry enough he will eat.
You could also look into butterworms and silkworms these are very appetising but healthier than waxworms.
