Snow Day

I was just wondering why schools take so long too call a snow sometimes. (when the roads are obviously bad)......... Our school will wait until 5:30 in the morning too call an OBVIOUS snow day, when many other local school call theirs the night before. It just makes it difficult for my mom to find someone too watch us(me and my brother) for the day with such short notice.
They want to make sure that the roads will be okay or not bad to drive on. Sometimes the school calls the night before and then it doesn't do anything. Just be glad you get snow days our school never gives them
