My 8 month old baby boy has to have a blanket to cuddle with when he falls asleep ..
He sucks his thumb and cuddles up to his blanket.
What age is OK to give a baby a blanket to sleep with?
(right now I give him a baby blanket to fall asleep with and I monitor him with it .. and once he falls asleep I remove the blanket and replace it with a cloth diaper .. just so he still has that 'cuddling' to a material feeling.)
I've tried afghan blankets .. he doesn't like them.
We co-sleep at night, but he sleeps in his crib for about 2-3 hours at night before I come to bed.
And sleeps in his crib during the day for naps.
Casidee is a few days younger than Landon and she too always sleeps and cuddles with a blanket with the satin edges to suck on....I let her sleep with it every night and nap time....at first i tried with just a nap and watched her and then gradually let her just have it....babies are smarter than they let us think i know without a doubt shes safe sleeping with it....if she cant breath she will move....even peek a boo with a blanket draped on her head she rips off and laughs....i would let him have it...blankets are a great security for them....figure you never have to wean them off of it you always sleep with a blanket!
