That post was a BREATH OF FRESH AIR! The intellectual honesty stands as a legitimate inquiry made in an open-minded manner, as well as a call to discourse. There is so much animosity and slandering of so very many groups. What possible good can come from such behavior?
I do not believe in any diety. For many years, I was careful not to say so for the same reason as our curious friend i.e., fear. The poster was afraid of atheists and I am afraid of religionists. In my 56th year I am determined to challenge this fear in myself. I am no longer willing to succumb to fear-based silence.
For the religiously affiliated people: are you surprised someone can be afraid of religious persons individually and collectively? For any who would like to open a sincere dialogue, here is a chance to sew a seed of mutual understanding.
