Know anything about copyright cross stitch.?

I was wondering if someone could tell me how the rights work for cross stitch patterns. I know I could not sell anything made from a kit, but how do you know which models in the books and magazines, you can use to make creations for sale. Thank you.

All models are protected by copyright. But to make you articles and sell them locally are generally allowed. That copyright is to prevent someone from copying the model and sell it or using the model on a large commercial scale. If you sell your items across the country, you can write to the authorization of a designer and if they give it, you must pay for each item you sell. Sometimes it's like 50 cents or one dollar per item. Sometimes a designer asks you to do so after have made a thousand of their design. If you do everything at local craft shows / shops you should be fine.
