I have been cross stitching and needlework for 10+ years and still cannot do french knots. can someone please explain how to do them. i follow the instructions and still won't work. I am just thinking maybe I should use beads insteads
Beads would certainly be easier! I have been doing x-stitch and embroidery for a long, long time, and it has only been the last few years I have been able to do these. I think the secret is to wind the thread 3 times around the needle as close to the cloth as possible. Make sure you are putting the needle down next to the hole you came up, and keep your fingernail on top of the 3 loops as they come off the needle and the thread gets drawn through them. Good luck!
