I am going to some concerts soon, and I have a Canon XS with only a kit lens, circular polarizing filter, and i'm about to get a neutral density filter. How can I get the best pictures possible?
Forget using the polarizer or ND filter at concerts. The light is low enough, without stealing two or more stops from the sensor by using those filters.
To shoot the stage, set your white balance to incandescent and the ISO to at least 1600 ... it is far better to have a little noise in your images than blur. A program like Noise Ninja can reduce noise quite well.
