Craft Gift for a NYC bride?

I want to make something for my friend's wedding because I know it won't be duplicated. Can anyone give me a suggestion? She does not like hearts or pastels or anything that looks "country".
Can you possibly describe/give instructions for something nice or lead me to a web site?
I know how to do counted cross stitch if that helps.

Since you say you do counted cross stitch, take some graph paper and spell out your friend and fiance's first names or last name (if you only want to do one name). This will be your pattern. Decide what you want to put around the name. It doesn't have to be hearts or country looking. If they're into skulls and cross bones, put that! Personalize your pattern, each square equals one cross stitch. Get your fabric and colored floss and have fun. It will be one of a kind! You could even get it framed for them.
