Christmas Issue

OK My boyfriend and I have started talking about Christmas presents for our families. We kind of have a problem. My boyfriend has a brother and a sister and they both have 3 kids. now we buy presents for all 6 kids plus his mom and dad. Even if we spent only $20 a person that is still $160. Last year we spent more on everyone else then we did on each other. I wouldn't mind spending the money but the problem is that we got back maybe $50 worth of stuff. I kind of feel like it is not fair that we buy for 6 kids because we don't have kids and his brother and sister don't even spend $30 on us. But we spend that on 1 kid alone. I know it isn't about receiving but it's not like we have all the money to give either. But when there is 8 people even a little bit adds up quickly. So Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
I think you have lost the spirit of Christmas. I love buying for my 8 neices and nephews, even though I have no kids for my siblings to buy for. I don't think it's unfair because I'm receiving less than I'm giving. That's just crazy. But, if you're tight on money, do a name draw with your bf's siblings to see who buys for which kids. My boyfriend and I also stopped buying so much for each other so we could buy more for other people. It just makes you feel good to give on Christmas. If it doesn't, take a step back and slow down and figure out why not. Good luck and have a merry christmas!
